"The negotiations with employers have been tough at times, but we have managed to sign a historically good agreement for Unionen members while also taking responsibility for stability and competitiveness" says Ia Hamn, central
ombudsman
at Unionen and responsible for the IT agreement.
The agreements now signed with Almega follow the industry benchmark, which means a collective agreement value of 7.4 percent over a two-year period. The value includes a unique focus on increased minimum wages and an increased allocation to flexible pensions.
"In addition to the special focus on raising minimum wages, we have also made progress in strengthening language around union work, working environment, and recovery in the IT agreement," continues Ia Hamn.
Union influence on the workplace has been a central issue during this year's bargaining season. Almega has demanded restrictions on union influence within most agreement areas, which Unionen has rejected during negotiations. This has resulted in a favorable outcome as these demands are not included in the final agreement.
"We are pleased with the agreement we have reached and look forward to its implementation in the workplaces," concludes Ia Hamn.
The agreement will now be implemented at companies like Microsoft, CGI, Samsung, Dell, TietoEvry, Telia, Telenor, Tele2, Sweco, Kiwra, WSP and many more within the sectors of IT, innovation and telecom and improve conditions for nearly 50,000 members of Unionen.
